A Special Needs Refereeing Course for NHC Referees was held on the 18th September 2005 at Stokenchurch Judo Club.  The course passed 4 Referees who are now qualified to referee at Special Needs Judo Events.

Following the course, an Invitation Judo Event took place in the afternoon for players with Special Needs. 17 young players attended, all with varying levels of Special Needs, ranging from Behavioural problems, Autism, Downs Syndrome and Physical Disabilities.

For many of these players this was their first judo event and there was great excitement amongst them, and with the support of family and friends, they really enjoyed themselves on the mat.

The NHC look forward to running this event annually.
